Ok. I need some help with a new art work I would like to create.  All I need is an image of your living room.

Here are details if you are interested:

1.  Take a photo of your living room at the highest quality your camera allows.  You can take it however you want.  The more of your living room you can fit into one image the better.

2.  Pick your favorite photo and send it to me at lauren (at) laurenusher.com

If you cannot send a digital image and still want to participate, email me.  I will send you my address so you can send me a paper print.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Can’t wait and thanks for volunteering!

Perhaps it’s time to say good-bye.

I haven’t been able to work up the nerve to toss these lovelys into the compost bin.  They are slowly disappearing on their own.  A different picture everyday.

Death in my living room.

The pink and yellow tulips of last week are slowly crinkling to nothingness.  They are at the point where they are changing by the hour.  A sadness is starting to seep over the room, but I don’t want to let them go yet.

Leftovers

This morning as I stumbled around the kitchen trying to put a cup of coffee together I noticed the beauty that the crumbs of broccoli can sometimes leave behind.

Randomness can be frustrating.

This is what happens when I find a tick on my sweet Neko.

I am not a fan of the heebeegeebees.

These shoes are too clean.

A clear sign that I haven’t done enough running lately.

My Favorite Day.

I have been reminiscing and daydreaming lately about my wedding day.  One of my best friends recently got engaged and my brother is getting married in a little over a week.  My friend Mark was so right when he said attending a wedding will never be the same after I was married.  And my college roommate Katrina was right when she told me she would love to relive the day over and over again, but since you can’t, take it all in the best you can.

I am happy I decided to go with Lavender for my wedding bouquet.  Not only is it pretty much everlasting (great symbolism for a wedding) but I have a smell memory now.  Every time I catch a whiff of lavender I think of inhaling it while I wept happy tears as I walked down the aisle to meet my very-soon-to-be-husband.

So, yesterday I came home to a bouquet of pink and yellow tulips.  I was told they were for “Just being me.”  Sweetheart.

Adding an object, especially one of vibrant color causes a great deal of shifting in space, light, and mood.

White walls.

I think this might be my favorite spot to watch the sun slowly seep away from the walls.

Coffee is my savior.

I love to make t-shirts and have decided to give a couple of my ideas a try.  I have attempted quite a few times to go the regular route of screen printing.  What I mean is, UV sensitive goop that you put on a screen that has a transparency taped to it that will magically appear on your screen after you let it sit in the sun for a particular amount of time.  It was a nightmare for me and I never liked the results.  Funny considering I love the dark room.  But, that’s beside the point.

What I have enjoyed is using ModgePodge to make my own glue-painted screens, if you will.  I have to give a BIG THANK YOU to craftgrrl for her awesome tutorial. It is a great deal more fun for me and saves money too!

What I am also having a great time doing is finding tremendous deals on gently used clothing to use as my t-shirts.  It is cheaper and more challenging for me.  Sometimes the material sparks a new design.

So, here are my two new screenprinted t-shirts.

First off, for my wonderful husband…(he got his very own)

Second, for me (:

Of course, these two lovelys are for sale in my online shop.
